Nobel Charter Middle School, located in Northridge, California, has a longstanding commitment to academic excellence and student development. In 2024, the school was honored with the School of Excellence National Merit Award from Magnet Schools of America, underscoring its dedication to providing outstanding educational programs.

Beyond academics, Nobel Charter Middle School actively promotes physical fitness and personal growth through its participation in Students Run LA (SRLA). Established at Nobel in 2008 by Coach Coyle and Coach Wyse, with Mrs. Fuentes and Mrs. Mandl joining in 2015, the program encourages students to train for and complete the Los Angeles Marathon. The SRLA initiative emphasizes goal-setting, resilience, and the development of healthy habits, aligning with the school's mission to foster well-rounded individuals.

Training sessions are held twice a week after school, with longer runs on Saturdays at Woodley Park in the Sepulveda Dam Basin. The program operates on the philosophy of "my race, my pace," encouraging students to find a comfortable running pace and supporting each other as a team. This approach ensures that students of all running abilities feel included and motivated.

In 2025, participation in SRLA returned to pre-pandemic levels, with nearly 3,000 middle and high school students preparing for the LA Marathon. Nobel Charter Middle School was among the participating schools, reflecting its ongoing commitment to student enrichment through extracurricular activities.

Through programs like SRLA, Nobel Charter Middle School continues to provide diverse opportunities for students to excel both academically and personally, reinforcing its reputation as a nurturing environment for young learners.
